Join us for the Fall Dessert Series – Four Mondays in October
Join us for the Fall Dessert Series !
by Teresa Forseth
We will be holding our second annual Fall Dessert Series beginning October 3rd. We are trying a different night of the week, Mondays, due to feedback about Wednesdays being a busy night for many.
Desserts will be served each night.
Sign ups will be in the Narthex if you would like to bring a dessert. Each night we will be sharing a video from the Skit Guys (The Chisel was shared by the Youth Mission Group) and then a discussion will follow.
Dates and topics are as follows:
Monday, October 3rd – Video “My Heart”
As Christians, we should have a heart for Jesus. A longing for Him, His purpose and His will. We should have a heart for people. To live our lives as a testimony so others can see Jesus through us. We should have a heart to share the faith that changed our lives and the hope that changed our eternity. These things are the heart of a Christian.
Monday, October 10th – Video “You’re Not Listening”
We live in a world where we are more connected to our technology than we are to each other. We’ve made everything about ourselves rather than doing what Christ told us to do: “Love God and love others.” This video reminds us how important it is to really listen when someone we know needs to be heard.
Monday, October 17th – Video “Walk the Talk”
It’s been said that character is who you are when no one is looking. Here’s a good reality check in this video from The Skit Guys.
Monday, October 24th – Video “The Sceva House”
Do not view this video! Turn back now! Run while you can! Only the bravest among you will be able to watch Tommy and Eddie build up the courage to explore the Sceva House where all sorts of creepy things have been rumored to happen in the deep hours of the night. The legend of the Sceva House is completely fictitious.
